Yeehaw, Wiggle fans! The beloved children’s music group that defined a generation (or two) is back with a new sound, twangier than ever. That’s right, The Wiggles have officially gone country with their latest album, Wiggle Up, Giddy Up! they didn’t just dip their toes in the hay— they went full rodeo.

The Wiggles Meet Country Royalty

If you thought The Wiggles were just for kids, think again. This new album features collaborations with some of country music’s biggest names, proving that The Wiggles have officially entered their genre-fluid era.

For starters, the legendary Dolly Parton lends her voice to “Friends!,” because honestly, what’s a country album without a little Dolly magic? Lainey Wilson brings the heat on “Let’s Ride!,” a boot-stomping anthem that seamlessly transitions into a fresh take on the classic Fruit Salad (yummy, yummy). And if that wasn’t enough to excite your inner cowpoke, Orville Peck joins in for “Friends of Dorothy,” a tribute to friendship, fun, and, of course, Dorothy the Dinosaur. (If there are Gen Xers out there who know the double entendre behind “Friends of Dorothy,” giggle for a bit before explaining it to your kids. Gently, of course.)

Country Classics Get a Wiggles Twist

The Wiggles are known for their iconic songs, but they’ve given a few of them a whole country makeover. Big Red Car gets a trucker-approved transformation into Toot Toot, Chugga Chugga, Big Red Ute with the help of Aussie country star Morgan Evans. Meanwhile, Rock-a-Bye Your Bear gets a heartfelt, twangy reboot featuring MacKenzie Porter. And for those of us who have survived raising toddlers, Jackson Dean lends his soulful voice to It’s Tough Being Three Years Old—a song that hits home for parents and little ones alike. (Pass the tissues.)

More Than Just Kid’s Music

The magic of Wiggle Up, Giddy Up! is that it appeals to both kids and parents. It’s got the playful, engaging energy that has made The Wiggles a household name for decades, but with the bonus of foot-stomping country rhythms and top-tier musical collaborations. Whether you’re five or fifty, there’s something to love here.

And any album that includes a feature from the late, great Slim Dusty (I Love to Have a Dance with Dorothy) is worth a listen.
