With her new song “Plenty of Fish,” Ashley Anne offers some sage advice to the next broken-hearted soul. “Feels like you’re drawing in an ocean of tears, but here’s the thing, goodbye’s supposed to sting,” she sings.
Teardrops soak her guitar, pulling from her own well-lived experiences. It’s both somber and light. There is hope at the end of a long, dark tunnel. “Are you tired of crying?” Anne later asks. The engages the listener to dig deep within themselves to find out.
“Nobody died, sis, it’s just a breakup,” she captions a video on Instagram. The comment accompanies a video of Anne’s CMA Fest debut earlier this month. We already knew as much, but the singer-songwriter’s star is on the rise.
