Rural life is something different. It’s not what you might expect, but the values, particularly faith, steep you in an understanding of how to treat people. With his new song “Pearl Snap Preacher,” Chancey Williams shares a tale about small-town living and how it relates to his own life.
With a classic country & western windswept tone, “Pearl Snap Preacher” is as Randy Travis as you can get. From the melody to the production, it’s ripped right out of Travis’ songbook. “I think a lot of farmers and ranchers and people who come from rural areas will especially relate to ‘Pearl Snap Preacher’ and see the character in themselves or people they know,” Williams shares.
“I’m definitely who I am because of both of my parents. Their unwavering faith, not only in God, but also in each other,” he continues, “and in the benefits of hard work and always trying to do the right thing, is just part of who I am now. I don’t really wear my faith on my sleeve, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t with me everywhere I go.”
