“Maybe I need you a little too much,” admits Sam Williams. In his new song “Lose You Too,” he navigates the crushing weight of impending heartbreak. While doing so, he learns to allow himself to shine bright, even though it’s a very dark day. “Can’t explain, something ’bout your kiss takes the pain away / Kinda lets me know it’s gonna be okay,” he unravels his heartstrings with each pulverizing lyric.
Darkness is nearly impenetrable, yet hope glistens in his eyes. There’s both vulnerability and strength exhibited here, a dichotomy that propels him further through the cavern of a breakup. “Stay with me, your air is the only kind I wanna breathe / Separation anxiety keeps me up at night,” he sings. Despite it all, a promising redemption glows bright and lights his way.
“Not gonna lie, it hurts to revisit this chapter… but [this song] still slaps,” Williams shares in a press statement. “There’s a softness in this song that I’m proud of, and maturing means learning not to dim the parts of yourself that feel deeply.”
