Tyler Booth pulls in the reins for a plaintive, sensitive moment. Wielding only his guitar, “Sunshine” sprouts from his fingertips as a message of hope and light. “I kept wondering when you’d show, I lost faith a time or two,” he sings.
Guitar trickles like a babbling brook, offering a salve for an anxiety-addled world. The storm might be raging now, but it’s all temporary. That’s where love comes in, as Booth then compares a lover to the gentle golden rays of the sun. Sometimes, a good metaphor will bring you out of a slump.
“Sunshine” serves as Booth’s second single of the year. It follows “Talkin’ White Trash” and primes the listener for Booth’s Downtown EP, out everywhere in June.
