Joey Myron blows the doors off the hinges with his new song “Tennessee Baby,” packing a punch with its monstrous drum line and genre-crushing sensibility. A collab with Lucky Dog, Myron holds nothing back as he expresses his deep adoration for a lover – and the unrelenting fierceness needed to keep a relationship chugging along. “If you want to see crazy, why don’t you go dancing on the tables of the old saloon,” he howls.
But “Tennessee Baby” is much more than meets the eye. It crafts its sonic wind-sweeping around a story about balancing the crazy parts of a relationship with the good ones – it’s always striking the equilibrium that’s the toughest aspect of any love. “Sweet, little lady, we’ve been drinking all afternoon,” he unravels the chorus. Myron’s swarthy vocals catch the listener up in a feverish firestorm that burns the roof off the joint.
On the song, Myron elaborates on its lyrical intention. “[This] is a song celebrating the good side of ‘crazy’ in a relationship,” he shares in a press statement. “It’s about working hard so your partner can enjoy themselves while trying to keep up with the madness of love. You can’t get the sweet without a little bit of a fight from your ‘sweet little lady.’”
