Country music bad boy Morgan Wallen‘s chair-throwing case is headed to criminal court.
According to WSMV, the local NBC affiliate in Nashville, TN, Worrick Robinson, Wallen’s attorney, made a brief appearance in a Nashville courthouse on December 10 to submit paperwork to a Davidson County judge, who then directed the case to the Circuit Criminal Court.
The “Last Night” singer, who was absent, is scheduled to appear on December 12 when his case is heard again before the criminal court judge.

The charges stem from an April 2024 incident at a bar in Nashville during its opening weekend. On the evening of April 7th, at approximately 10:53 p.m., police officers were in front of Chiefs Bar when they saw a chair fall from the ceiling and strike the street. Staff workers allegedly informed the bar’s security that Morgan was to blame for the altercation when the police officers approached them to find out what was happening.
Police testimony subsequently revealed that Morgan Wallen was “lunging an object over the roof,” which was about six stories off the street.
Following his arrest, Wallen to X (formerly Twitter) to address the incident on April 19th.
“I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility,” he wrote.
