Jessie J is a name you don’t hear all that often these days. With her seductive and sweet new song, “Living My Best Life,” she reconciles a breakup that once gave her so much joy. It’s been a journey, but she finally wipes away the tears and dances in the sun. It’s a feel-good anthem we all needed right now.
“Everybody” – Lola Blanc
Lola Blanc takes your heart hostage with her slinky, experimental track. “Everybody” sidewinds in the gravel and dirt, smothering the snake-biting lyrics in a coat of venom. Blanc’s voice trembles against layers of strings and percussion. It carries real punch, and you won’t soon forget it.
“What I’m Made Of” – The Summer Set
Pop band The Summer Set offers a contemplative slice of pop music. “What I’m Made Of” proves the group still has the juice. Discarding toxic relationships, they find solace in knowing that there is someone who really cares. “You make me love what I’m made of,” the band sings, eventually forgiving themselves despite all their flaws. It’s a marvelous piece of music that cuts to the heart.
