With HGTV’s announcement of the return of its restoration series, Home Town, for Season 9, it’s almost time for fans to return to their origins. A brand-new series of episodes that follow Ben and Erin Napier, a married couple and coworkers, as they embark on a fresh set of renovation projects will be available to viewers starting on Sunday, December 29.

The Napiers’ goal in the season premiere of Home Town is to assist a couple in transforming their newly acquired mid-century modern house into a space that would develop not only their relationship but also their business of salsa and hot sauce. Their main projects involve providing a kitchen that can accommodate all of their high-yielding production requirements and enlarging the garden with a greenhouse, where we assume fresh peppers, tomatoes, and other delicious salsa vegetables would flourish.

As the Napiers tour their hometown of Laurel, Mississippi, assisting homeowners in bringing back the charm of their otherwise dull homes along the way, viewers can anticipate a plethora of more tantalizing restorations from the ninth season of the show in addition to the spicy season opener. The HGTV hosts will also visit a few historical sites, assist a lake house that needs some extra space, and even visit a family they assisted in a previous season. Of course, there will be some setbacks along the way, but after the two fight to revitalize a historic homestead, this season might have fans witnessing the most damaging one.

The third season of their spin-off series, Home Town Takeover, will premiere before the ninth season of the flagship show. In contrast to the original series, the much-beloved Napiers depart from Laurel, Mississippi, and aim to assist people all over the country. In the season premiere, which has not yet been set for release, the two will get their hands dirty in Sebring, Florida, located in the south-central portion of the state (that actually has a lot in common with the Napiers’ “hometown”).

As more Americans embrace country living, Home Town and its spin-offs will become more culturally relevant.
